靜夜

沒有蟲兒的叫﹐
沒有鳥兒的鳴﹐
沒有溪流的淙淙﹐
也沒有樹葉的沙沙。
只有皓月當空﹐
萬籟無聲。
我獨自聽著心潮﹐
只有它不平靜。

Calm Night

No chirping of insects,
No warbling of birds,
No gurgling of streams,
And no rustling of leaves,
Only the bright moon in the sky.
No sound in the universe.
I listen alone to my heart’s throbbing,
For only my heart is not calm.

一個微不足道的人﹐

To Poets One Hundred years Hereafter

Here you are,
And I’m gone.
When you read this poem,
One hundred years will have elapsed.
Spanning time and space,
I leave my words here for you.
As a nobody,
I leave you
This trivial poem.
If my poem
Won’t have been erased by Time,
If you can still
Read this poem of mine,
This trivial poem of mine
Is not written in vain.
And as a nobody
I don’t live in vain.
Please remember me,
A nameless person----
Oversea hermit!

海天頌（抒情詩）

蔚藍的大海﹐
蔚藍的天空﹐
穿著同色的衣衫﹐
是一對孿生的弟兄。

無邊的大海﹐
遼闊的天空﹐
在遙遠的地平線上﹐
他們相親而相擁。

是天上的星星
掉進了海中﹔
還是海裡的鑽石
躍上了天空﹖

在絢麗的碧空﹐
有白雲在飄動﹔
在湛藍的海底﹐
有白雲在潛泳。

我要乘上白雲﹐
遨遊天際﹐
凌風蹈虛﹐
與雄鷹一比高低。

我要躺在大海的懷裡﹐
與碧波一起蕩漾﹐
像搖籃裡的天真嬰兒﹐
享受這寧靜的瞬間。

Ode to Sea and Sky

The blue sea,
The blue sky,
Dressed in the same color,
Are twin brothers.

The boundless sea,
The vast sky,
At the distant horizon,
They embrace each other.

Did the stars in the sky
Fall into the sea?
Or the diamonds in the sea
Jump up into the sky?

In the beautiful blue sky
The white clouds floating;
At the bottom of the blue sea
The white clouds diving.

I'd like to ride on the white clouds
Traveling to the edge of the sky;
Or borne on the wind, treading in void,
To compare with the eagle, who being higher.

I'd like to lie in the arms of the sea,
Undulating with the blue waves,
Like an innocent baby in a cradle,
To enjoy the moment of tranquility.

天上染作坊﹐打碎五色缸。遂將素綾雲﹐染成彩錦裳。
我欲煩織女﹐為我繡紅妝。將去贈相知﹐禮輕情意長。

Poem Composed When Watching Sunrise on Mt. Yellow

In the heavenly dyehouse
Vats filled with five colors broken
So dyeing the white satin clouds
Into colorful brocade dress
I want to ask the girl weaver
To embroider a red dress for me
I’ll give it to my beloved
The trivial gift shows my deep love

次韻唐崔顥黃鶴樓

詩人亦隨黃鶴去﹐留得佳句黃鶴樓。人如黃鶴去不返﹐雲復千載自悠悠。
人來人往樓依舊﹐花落花開花滿洲。莫負春光賒一醉﹐古今知有幾多愁。

Written to the Rhyme of Yellow Stork Tower
by Cui Hao of Tang Dynasty

The poet also gone with the yellow stork,
Leaving behind his poem of Yellow Stork Tower.
He’d gone and never returned like the yellow stork,
The clouds floating freely for another thousand years.
People came and went, but the tower is still there
Flowers bloom and fall, yet they fill the shoal
Don’t fail to live up to Spring, and get drunk.
How much sorrow there’d have been from olden time till now?

詠宇宙飛船

我買星船載酒遊﹐邀君河漢共吟酬。失重人可隨心躍﹐不系舟能到處浮。
星宙遙看燦邃暗﹐地球回首藍明柔。牛郎莫嘆鵲橋斷﹐載爾同舟渡此流。

Ode on Spaceship

I take a spaceship on a voyage, bringing wine
Invite you to the Celestial River, chanting poems
Without gravity, we are able to jump at will
The unmoored ship can float freely everywhere
Watching the universe from afar----stars sparkling in deep darkness
Glancing back to the Earth----it’s soft bright blue
Don’t sigh, Cowboy, for the broken Magpie Bridge
I’ll take you in my ship to cross the river

春晚即景

老樹村前噪夕鴉﹐晚來燕子各歸家。枝頭舊綠間新綠﹐籬畔紅花雜紫花。

A Scene in a Spring Evening

On an old tree in the village returned crows cawing;
The swallows are back to respective homes in the evening.
The old green is interlocked with the new green on the boughs;
The red flowers mingling with the purple ones by the fence.

詠海鷗二首
Ode to Seagull
其一﹕
悠悠水上鷗﹐展翅逐行舟。不怕波濤涌﹐那憂風雨稠。
天高憑上下﹐海闊任翔遊。每當晴日好﹐閑然翱自由。
The first poem:
The seagulls above the water are free of care
Following the sailing ships with spreading wings
They are not fearful of billows
Nor afraid of heavy storms
They fly up and down in the vast sky
And travel far and near over the boundless sea
Whenever it is a fine day
They will hover freely and leisurely.
其二﹕
暴風帶雨來﹐波濤連山涌。烏雲暗海天﹐魚舟皆潛蹤。
君看一海鷗﹐出沒風浪中。萬里任縱橫﹐傲然凌長空。
The second poem:
The gale brings heavy rains with it
The billows surge like a chain of hills
The dark clouds dim the sea and sky
Fishes and ships all hidden somewhere
Please look at the seagull
Among winds and waves, now visible and now invisible
It can dart far and wide at will across myriad miles
And soar into the vast sky in self pride.
