Suicideterrorism

Ami Pedahzur’s Suicide Terrorismarticulate and groundbreaking work not only addresses how terrorism occurs, butalso why terrorist groups have chosen suicide terrorism as a tactic throughoutthe globe. He demonstrates that terrorism is a process. virtually allterrorists – including suicide terrorists – do not have any substantial mentalincapacities, or suffer from any personality disorders, they do tend to come tochoose to be involved in terrorism as a result of personal crises. heacknowledges that various factors, such as rapid transitions in their lives, the loss of loved ones in violent conflict with perceived enemies, humiliationand the desire for revenge, all play significant roles in influencing aminority of people to engage in acts of political violence, including suicideterrorism. In many circumstances, those who become suicide terrorists do so forredemption. there are other institutional and social factors that influencepeople’s choices to become terrorists. Like Mark Sageman’s outstanding study,Understanding Terror Networks(2004), Robert Pape’s outstanding Dying to Win(2005),indicates that the importance of pre-existing social bonds in coming toterrorism. the importance that family members, friends, and bonding in prisons, play in bringing people into terrorist activity or to the attention of existingterrorist groups. many suicide bombers were often not core members of thegroups. Therefore, the groups were able to inflict casualties and disorderamong their enemies with minimal impact on their own resources. He also notesthat for suicide terrorism to be seen as a legitimate form of struggle, it requirespopulations that feel that they are suffering at the hands of an oppressor, andthat this is the only option available for overcoming that suffering. whichemphasises that most suicide attacks are launched against countries that areperceived to be occupying land. groups select suicide bombings because theygenerate fear, and they provide platforms for their causes because theygenerate media attention. Pedahzur argues that suicide terrorism is a ‘rationaltactical strategy’ (p. 33) that is the product of organisational actors’planning, individual choices and social dynamics (p. 193).

Humanatreat to the family member of terrorists

In the Indonesian and Singaporeancases, the police attempt to establish trust by looking after the financialneeds of the families of those incarcerated on terrorism charges, especiallytheir children’s education and job prospects.[1] InSingapore, they are currently assisting a Muslim Religious RehabilitationGroup, which not only engages in attempts to have jihadis renounce violence, but to maintain civic vigilance among its Muslim population, which already hasa strong track record of renouncing violence, and a commitment to themultiethnic and multi-faith composition of the state. These measures havehelped to establish good faith between the parties and have created bases fordiscussion between former antagonists. While under the CCP, family members and relativeusually suffered great deal in career and financial for their father or mother’spolitical dissident acts, always were persecuted in prison, detain and strict surveillance. In another words, the CCP regime is much worse than the Indonesian and Singaporeangovernment treat with terrorist family member.
